The Week before Christmas

Well...I can only say that this week has been a great one for busking...started off in Timaru and then two and fro betwwen the two centre's for the week!

The foot traffic was amazing especially in Timaru...the people were amazing too...friendly and very encouraging! Sold a good number of CD's off the street as well... so profit margins were definitely UP!!!

Also got a gig at the Carlton hotel in Timaru for New Years!

It's Xmas eve and all is well ...all the shopping done ...the kids are in bed and the wife is waiting for me to sit down with her in front of the telly!

Looking forward to a nice family day tomorrow ... Bar- B -Q is the order for the day...Merry Christmas & God Bless!

Strawberry Fair - a wash(out)

  • Mood: Content
  • Music: Six months on a leeky boat!

Well... I had planned on playing on the street for the Waimate Strawberry Fair...because of the large number that gather for this annual event...BUT...decided against because it... rained and rained and rained...(sounds like something from Pooh Bear LOL)

We went down for a look (Julie, Jed & Josiah & I) but it was kinda mucky, wasn't too bad when we first arrived but because of the large number tramping continually over the wet ground it soon turned too slush! (Slippery SLUSH!)

Kids enjoyed it though...Jed particularly liked his ride on the miniture pony!

Hopefully a sunny day ...next year!  - Kev

On the Street - First copy released

Here we have it...the first copy of my new album "On the Street" , I'm feelin' very pleased with the final mix...a good blend of my own songs and covers! This is the pic of the CD itself and below is the Album  cover.

Not a bad photo of the old boy ... even if I do say myself

If anyone wants a copy just send an email with details to busker1@hotmail.com  I would warn you though... this music can get right into your soul !!!

Well I've got the weekend off...so far... and I'm gonna enjoy the time with my beautiful wife & kids...and of course to all those wonderfully mundane tasks ... like mow the lawns ...oh what pleasure in the simple things of life! Hallelujah!

Victorian Fete - Oamaru Heritage Celebrations - Sunday Nov 20th 2005

  • Mood: Ecstatic

The weather was beautiful and the day was amazing!

Set up outside the radio station at 10.00am, fortunately they let us through coz the road was blocked off to all traffic from 8.30am.

The crowds were amazing, busloads and trainloads of people arrived from all over, I was lucky enough to be the first entertainer to be seen and heard as you entered the Fete. People were so friendly and encouraging throughout the day...had my case opened just to my right and I tell you by the end of the day it was almost too heavy to lift!

Just a shame the CD aint quite ready yet coz I reckon we would have sold heaps! People took so many photo's , video's...I was overwhelmed by the interest in my music...it really blew me away...it's one of those special day's that will remain in the memory box for a long time to come!

Seemed like everyone was  dressed in Victorian costume.. some of the strret buskers/dancers that had come down from Christchurch were quite entertaining to watch..the mood was great ..the atmosphere exciting...I'm lookin' forward to the next one...I'm gonna make every effort to be there again!
